If you were unable to join us at our meeting on September 12th, please look in the Portchester 'Letters' section of this website. There you will find a PDF containing all the information that was discussed during the meeting.
Look out for the Home Learning sheet which will be given out every Friday. The expectations of homework set in Year 3/4 is as follows:
- Reading (daily), aiming to read at least five times a week
- Spellings (daily in preparation for a fortnightly test)
- Multiplication and Division recall (daily in preparation for a weekly test)
- There may be a task to complete at home which relates to a topic we are learning about in class.
We expect full PE kit in every Monday. In winter children should bring track suits, or jogging bottoms and use their school sweatshirts to keep warm. Indoor kit will be needed all year. Trainers may be worn for indoor fitness and games. Portchester has outdoor PE on Tuesdays and indoor PE on Thursdays.
Naming clothes: All clothes and bags should be clearly named.
Food Policy: The mid-morning snack should be fruit and not sweets or crisps.
Absences: It is extremely important that your child attends school every day, unless they are unwell or compassionate leave has been granted. If they are unwell, please ensure that the school office is notified or an explanation letter sent in as soon as possible.
Punctuality: Our Classroom door opens at 8:45am and children are expected to be in the classroom by 8.55 am.
School uniform: Please ensure that your child is outfitted in the correct school uniform, including sensible black school shoes – not trainers or canvas shoes.
