Religious Education (R.E.)
As a school we follow the new West Sussex Agreed Syllabus. The children are taught about the main religions in the world. In KS1 they will primarily learn about Christianity and Judaism/Islam. In Key Stage 2 the children will build on prior knowledge and also explore Islam and Hinduism. All children will investigate religious festivals, customs and ways of worship. They learn to
*understand a range of world religions,
*express ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of world religions
* engage purposefully with world religions.
As a school we encourage a respect for diversity and aim to strengthen an understanding of other communities and cultures.
Parents wishing to withdraw their child from RE or collective worship can do so by contacting the Headteacher.
